Vorbild:
Dampflok G 4/5 der RhB
Basierend auf einem Entwurf für die abessinische Bahn entwickelte die SLM in Winterthur eine vierfach gekuppelte Schlepptenderlok für die Rhätische Bahn. Die ersten vier Lokomotiven der Serie G 4/5 wurden 1904 an die RhB abgeliefert. Die Konstruktion war ein voller Erfolg, bis 1915 wurden insgesamt 29 Lokomotiven in Dienst gestellt
Die einsetzende Elektrifizierung der Rhätischen Bahn beendete dann die Lieferung von Dampfloks. Zahlreiche Loks wurden ins Ausland verkauft, zwei Lokomotiven jedoch verblieben bei der Rhätischen Bahn. Sie werden zur Freude der Eisenbahnfans heute noch bei Sonderfahrten eingesetzt.

Beleuchtung:
Dreilicht-Spitzensignal nach Schweizer Norm (3+1); Führerstandsbeleuchtung mit zwei verdeckt angebrachten Leuchten; vorbildgerechtes Flackerlicht an der Kesseltüre
Mechanik:
Allradauflage mit 3-Punkt Lagerung; Antrieb in der Lok; angetrieben sind Kuppelrad 1+ 4 über Zahnrad und kurze Kardanwelle; Motor mit Schwungmasse für weichen Lauf und gute Fahrdynamik; gleit-/kugelgelagerte Achsen für hohe Lebensdauer; Vollmetallräder aus Zinkdruckguss mit aufgepressten Radreifen; Stromabnahme integriert 8 x Lok und 6 x Tender; Schienenschleifer leicht abnehmbar; variabler Lok-Tenderabstand für verschiedene Radien
Detaillierung:
Metallchassis bei Lok und Tender; Federpuffer; Führerstand komplett nachgebildet, Details dreidimensional modelliert; bewegliche Führerstandstüren mit Rasten; Lieferung mit 2 Figuren; Vorhang und Kohlesäcke aus echtem Stoff; bewegliche Umsteuerung; vordere Pufferbohle tauschbar (zur Montage einer Kupplung); vorne nur kuppelbar auf größeren Radien; alle verwendeten Materialien sind wetterfest und somit Outdoor-geeignet.

Die Fahrteigenschaften dieser Lok waren bei Auslieferung sehr unbefriedigend, demzufolge hat Brawa bei dieser digitalen Lok den Motor mit einem Maxon Motor ersetzt.
Wenn der Motor bei der Lok ausgetauscht wurde ist dies ist auf der Verpackung vermerkt.
Der DCC Decoder und das Sound Modul wurden von der Firma Dietz geliefert.

Prototype:
Rhb Steam Locomotive G 4/5
Based on a design for the Abyssinian Railway, the SLM works in Winterthur developed a four-coupled tender locomotive for the Rhätische Bahn. The first four locomotives in the G 4/5 series were delivered to the Rhätische Bahn in 1904. The design was a resounding success and a total of 29 locomotives had been put into service by 1915.
The onset of electrification on the Rhätische Bahn then put a stop to further deliveries of steam locomotives. Numerous locomotives were sold overseas, though two remained with the Rhätische Bahn. Railway fans are delighted that they are still used for excursions.

Model:
RhB G 4/5 for digital operation - retrofitted by Brawa with Maxon motor.
Lighting:
Three headlights according to Swiss standards (3 +1); cab lighting with two concealed lights; prototypical flickering light in the boiler door
Mechanical:
Drivetrain with 3-point suspension, motor drive within the locomotive body; gear-driven main axle 1 + 4 via short drive shaft, motor equipped with flywheel for smooth running and good driving dynamics; ball-bearing supported axles for long life, zinc die-cast metal wheels with fit-pressed rims; eight power pick-ups on locomotive and six on tender, easily removable sliders, coupling distance between locomotive body and tender can be varied to accommodate different track radii.
Detailing:
Metal chassis on locomotive and tender, sprung buffers, fully detailed cab, Details modeled in three dimensions, cab doors can be opened and are equipped with latches. Comes with 2 figures; curtain and coal sacks made ??of real fabric, moving reversing lever; front buffer beam interchangeable to allow installation of a front coupling on larger radii layouts. All materials used is weather resistant and therefore suitable for outdoor operation.

The running characteristics of this locomotive were most unsatisfactory as shipped by the factory. Brawa therefore initiated a recall action where all digital locomotives were retrofitted with a Maxon Motor.
A sticker on the packaging indicates if that retrofit has been completed.
The DCC Decoder and sound module were provided by the firm Dietz in Germany
